SUMMARY:ULI Tampa Bay - June StimULI - Building Small: An Alternative Approach to Development and Building Community
DESCRIPTION:Please note that this StimULI Breakfast will take place on a Wednesday for the June StimULI!\nRegistration required!\nULI Tampa Bay – June StimULI – Building Small: An Alternative Approach to Development & Building Community | ULI Tampa Bay\nSmall-scale incremental real estate development offers an increasingly valuable alternative to more institutional approaches. “Building small” helps create more authentic places\, acts as a magnet for new investment\, and helps attract talent-based employment\, all while fostering a more resilient local economy. However\, entrepreneurial developers working to build small sometimes face jurisdictional and capital inertia.\nDrawing on extensive case studies\, interviews with more than 100 developers\, and first-hand knowledge gained from his own personal projects\, ULI-published author and small developer Jim Heid articulates what small-scale development means\, why it is essential to communities of every size and location\, and how entrepreneurial developers and community leaders can help remove the obstacles to small – resulting in more successful projects and more enduring communities. Jim will also share ideas about how the concept of building small can inform and help drive economic development and resilience in Tampa Bay’s growth.\nJim’s book will be available for purchase and author signature. You can request a copy of his book\, Building Small: A Toolkit for Real Estate Entrepreneurs\, Civic Leaders and Great Communities\, to be at the event for your purchase via the JotForm.
